Stirling Pride is set to embark on a unique ‘rural tour’ across the region as part of its programme of events, unveiling a diverse series of activities. The tour aims to bring the colour and cheer of Stirling Pride to rural communities and foster inclusivity and connection among LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in these areas.
The programme features a variety of events including ceilidhs, concerts, film screenings, and even drag bingo. The first event, ‘Wander and Blether,’ kicked off at Plean Country Park, where approximately 20 LGBTQ+ people and allies gathered to enjoy a stroll and casual conversation, soaking up the fresh air and forging new friendships. These gatherings aim to create safe spaces, establish support networks, and combat social isolation in rural parts of Stirling.
Thanks to funding from the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, the events in the programme will either be free or available at a low cost, ensuring accessibility for all participants. As part of the tour, award-winning singer Kim Carnie is scheduled to perform at Gartmore Village Hall on March 29, with a ‘Craftermoon Afternoon Tea’ event also on the horizon in March.

Following the success of the inaugural Stirling Pride in September last year, organisers are optimistic about the upcoming festival on September 20. To support this year’s festival, a fundraising event named ‘Slay’ will be held at Stirling’s Albert Halls on April 18, featuring performances by RuPaul’s Drag Race Queens La Voix and Kate Butch, as well as Scottish drag queen Lady Rampant.
