Two men arrested after Scots cops bust alleged £3.6million drug ring

Police in Scotland have recently arrested two men in connection with an alleged £3.6 million drug ring. The arrests took place following a series of coordinated raids in West Calder, Falkirk, Livingston, and Edinburgh. The suspects, aged 28 and 29, have been charged with drug offences spanning across three different police divisions in Scotland.

The operations, which occurred on Monday, January 20, 2025, resulted in the execution of warrants in Falkirk. The individuals were apprehended in connection with serious and organised crime activities. They have since been charged and were scheduled to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court the following day, Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

During the raids, large-scale cannabis cultivations were uncovered in the targeted locations, spanning from September 2022 to the present month. The police estimated that the street value of the seized cannabis amounts to £3.6 million. In addition to the drugs, enforcement authorities also seized £12,000 in cash and cannabis worth £80,000.

Detective Sergeant John Irvine emphasised the commitment of the police to combat serious and organised crime in Scotland, recognising its detrimental impact on local communities. Irvine highlighted that disrupting large-scale drug operations plays a crucial role in preventing the circulation of illegal substances on the streets.
