Drivers Set for Two Weeks of Nighttime Road Closures for Roadworks on A82 Between Tyndrum and Glencoe
Motorists in the Tyndrum and Glencoe areas are bracing themselves for over two weeks of overnight road closures as improvement works on the A82 are scheduled to commence next month. BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be conducting surfacing improvements on two stretches of the A82 between Tyndrum and Glencoe, specifically at Auch and Rannoch Moor. The project aims to enhance the road surface’s durability and resilience to adverse weather conditions, as well as improve road markings to enhance overall safety for drivers.
The roadworks are set to kick off on Sunday, February 16, and are expected to conclude by the morning of Wednesday, March 5. Work will take place overnight between the hours of 7pm and 5am. While traffic management will be removed outside of these working hours, a 30mph speed limit will remain in effect as vehicles traverse over a temporary road surface. To ensure the safety of the road workers, the A82 will be closed in both directions each night from 7pm to 5am, with scheduled amnesties at various times to allow waiting vehicles to pass through the site.
Emergency services and scheduled bus services will still have access throughout the duration of the works. Additionally, an alternative route will be provided for motorists wishing to bypass the area via the A85 and A828.
