Hamilton Construction Firm Expands Through Group Acquisition
A Hamilton-based construction and property firm, Procast, has recently broadened its business horizons by acquiring JC+P Property and Construction Consultants, a surveying and consultancy company based in Glasgow. The takeover, valued at six figures, is being hailed as a significant achievement for Procast, as it aligns with the company’s strategy to incorporate a new business into its portfolio each year.
Following the acquisition, JC+P’s six staff members will now operate from Procast’s headquarters on Alness Street in Hamilton. The move enables Procast, which boasts a workforce of over 130 employees, to reinforce its position as a market leader in retrofitting projects and multi-trade contracting ventures across Scotland and northern England.
By combining forces, Procast and JC+P aim to leverage each other’s strengths to deliver enhanced value to clients, collaborate on frameworks, and jointly bid for new contracts. Derek Innes, the owner and managing director of Procast, expressed enthusiasm regarding the expansion, highlighting the expertise gained from JC+P, especially in retrofitting projects. Moreover, the move aligns seamlessly with Procast’s commitment to growth and innovation.
Gordon Ross, a longstanding director at JC+P, has been appointed as the managing director of the acquired firm and will now sit on the Procast Group board. Ross emphasised the shared values and ethos between the two companies, noting the potential for collaborative growth and service enhancements.
Procast’s primary focus lies in collaborating with housing associations and local authorities, while JC+P specialises in private developments, commercial properties, and educational projects. Procast’s recent recognition as the project management company of the year at the 2024 national energy efficiency awards further solidifies its reputation in the industry.
With the addition of JC+P to its roster of businesses, Procast now boasts eight diverse divisions, including building contractors, energy services, and property services. The synergy between the two companies sets a promising course for future projects and endeavours, underpinned by a shared commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.
In conclusion, the strategic acquisition of JC+P represents a pivotal moment for Procast, marking a significant step towards expanding its capabilities, enhancing service offerings, and fostering collaborative growth in the construction and property sector. The alignment of values and expertise between the two companies sets a strong foundation for future success and innovation in the industry.
