A woman who went on a shoplifting spree and physically assaulted store staff and police officers has been sentenced to over 18 months in prison. Nicole Randall, 33, appeared at Airdrie Sheriff Court where her lawyer described her as a “lovely” person when not under the influence of substances.
Randall pleaded guilty to a series of charges, including five counts of attacking shop workers in Airdrie, four counts of assaulting police officers, 10 charges of shoplifting and theft, theft by housebreaking, threatening or abusive behaviour, racially aggravated behaviour, and breaching bail conditions.
Sheriff Joseph Hughes expressed concern over Randall’s continued criminal behavior despite being repeatedly released from custody. He warned her that any further offences would likely result in her being remanded until her case is heard. The sheriff handed down a total of 550 days in jail as punishment for her actions.
