National Air Traffic Services (NATS) base in Prestwick is set to enhance its facilities with a state-of-the-art Staff Support Facility, as building and infrastructure company Tilbury Douglas secures the contract for the multimillion-pound project. In a bid to prioritise staff wellbeing, the new development will boast a gym, sleeping areas, a medical suite, and a goods-in area among other features. The completion target for this project is Autumn 2025.
The Prestwick Centre, managed by NATS, plays a crucial role in delivering air traffic control services for airports across Scotland and overseeing the UK’s upper airspace. The new 682sqm facility comprising three floors will not only replace existing working spaces but also incorporate a modern medical centre, operational staff bedrooms, and a cutting-edge gym with changing rooms to promote a healthy lifestyle among NATS employees.
