Humza Yousaf’s Brother-in-law Faces Trial on Extortion and Drug Charges

The 37-year-old El-Nakla, who is the brother of Yousaf’s wife, Nadia El-Nakla, has denied allegations of intimidating and extorting money from the deceased individual. The incident in question resulted in the serious injury and subsequent death of Ryan Munro, 36, following an episode at a block of flats in Morgan Street, Dundee on January 10, 2024.
Moreover, Stephen Stewart, 51; Jennifer Souter, 39; and Victoria McGowan, 42, have also denied accusations of abducting Munro, making threats against him, and causing him extreme fear and distress leading to his fatal fall. The trio faces charges related to these events, along with allegations of involvement in the supply of cocaine in Dundee from July 1, 2023, to January 11, 2024. They further deny any connection to heroin distribution during the same timeframe.
During a recent preliminary hearing at the Glasgow High Court, El-Nakla, Stewart, and McGowan maintained their pleas of innocence and the trial date was scheduled for December 2 of this year at the High Court in Edinburgh.
