In a heartwarming display of kindness and community spirit, Kyle Raeburn, a 31-year-old landscaper from West Lothian, sprang into action to assist elderly residents on Manse Court in East Calder. The residents had been left stranded in their homes due to fallen trees blocking their road following Storm Eowyn. Kyle, upon seeing a social media post from a client whose elderly mother was affected, wasted no time and enlisted the help of his friend, Ryan Macleod, to clear the obstruction.
The street, known for its elderly population in sheltered housing, had been inaccessible to emergency services, carers, and residents for several days. Kyle recounted the challenging task of climbing over fences and fallen trees to reach the affected area. Concerned for the safety and well-being of the residents, Kyle and Ryan cleared the debris using their landscaping equipment, ensuring that the street was once again accessible.
The selfless actions of Kyle did not go unnoticed, with grateful residents expressing their gratitude for his swift response and assistance.
