Police carried out a dramatic raid on a mansion dubbed the ‘criminal concierge’ residence, leading to the seizure of £1 million in illicit cash and designer goods. Anthony Kane, operating under the aliases ‘Swiftray’ and ‘Dual-time’ on the EncroChat network, catered to high-profile criminals by illegally trading luxury watches and vehicles. His criminal activities involved aiding associates involved in major drug trafficking to conceal the source of their wealth through fraudulent means.
Merseyside Police, after months of surveillance work, executed search warrants at various locations in October 2022, including Kane’s residence in Allerton. The raid led to the discovery of £254,990 in cash, luxury watches valued at £950,000, and assets exceeding £150,000, including vehicles, jewellery, art pieces, and designer clothing. Kane’s criminal operations date back to 2018 when he was found in possession of almost €214,360 during a stop by the Met Police in Camden.
Following a thorough investigation, Kane was sentenced to seven years in prison in July 2024 for multiple money laundering offences. Despite initially denying ties to criminal activities, he eventually confessed to facilitating illegal transactions with various notorious criminals. Kane’s trial unveiled his involvement in criminal money transfers and possession of criminal property, leading to the forfeiture of assets, including a villa in Marbella.
Detective Sergeant Rob Brown, the lead investigator, highlighted Kane’s role as a ‘criminal concierge,’ orchestrating illicit deals for personal gains amidst a luxurious lifestyle funded by criminal activities. The extensive collaboration between law enforcement agencies resulted in the identification and freezing of Kane’s assets, aimed at disrupting organised crime networks across Merseyside and beyond.
