Planning permission has been granted in principle for a 200-house development in Cambuslang after almost a decade of planning. Taylor Wimpey West Scotland is overseeing the construction of the homes, which are part of a larger mixed-use development at Newton Farm. This development is part of the wider CGA project and represents the final area to be developed within the site, with other sections already at various stages of completion.
The planning committee approved the variation of several planning conditions in 2015 to pave the way for the construction of 206 residential dwellings and associated infrastructure in the last phase of the Newton CGA development. The discharge of the final condition specified that all relevant details such as layout, design, landscaping, and drainage must be submitted to and approved by the planning authority.
