Nearly 5000 households and businesses in Lanarkshire, including Crossford, Greengairs, Cumbernauld, and Kilsyth, are celebrating faster internet access with the ongoing improvements in connectivity. The Reaching 100% initiative, a collaboration between the Scottish Government and Openreach, has made significant progress in enhancing broadband services for hard-to-reach locations.
The recent development has seen over 3900 properties in Crossford and 750 properties in Greengairs, Cumbernauld, and Kilsyth benefit from the upgraded broadband connection. This initiative marks a significant step towards achieving full-fibre network coverage, with more than half of properties in North Lanarkshire now passed by the new network.
