Welsh Opera Singer Wynne Evans Set to Showcase Opera Talents on Strictly Come Dancing
Welsh opera singer Wynne Evans, best known for his portrayal of Gio Compario in the famous GoCompare adverts on UK television, is set to grace the dance floor of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. The 52-year-old tenor, whose opera talents have captured the hearts of millions, is eager to bring his unique blend of opera and dance to the Strictly stage.
Evans, who shot to fame as Gio Compario in 2009, expressed his excitement about joining the popular dance show, stating, “I am honestly still pinching myself, a portly balding opera singer like me, taking part in Strictly Come Dancing?! I’m not entirely sure how I’ll get along, if all else fails I’ll just have to learn the art of distraction. What I do know is I will give it my all and aim to make Wales proud. I’m definitely going to try and combine my love of Opera into one of my routines.”
