Five injured as car driven into crowd outside nightclub in Freshers’ week horror

Five people have been injured as a car intentionally drove into a crowd outside a popular Birmingham nightclub during Freshers’ Week. The incident took place at The Tunnel Club on Livery Street around 3 am on Friday morning. Police responded to reports of a disturbance involving a group and found five injured individuals, one of whom sustained severe injuries. All the injured parties were taken to the hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police stated that they are investigating the incident as a targeted attack, with suspicions that the victims were deliberately struck by the vehicle. One man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and is currently in custody, while authorities are actively searching for the driver and the car involved. Police have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the public.
