According to the Met Office, Saturday night has the highest likelihood of aurora sightings further south, particularly across central England. Dr. Steph Yardley, a space scientist at Northumbria University, explained that the region of the Sun responsible for the flares has been notably active, with Earth-directed eruptions expected to impact the planet between October 4-6.
