Manhunt for shooter after three women injured in Wolverhampton drive-by
Detectives in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, are on the hunt for a shooter after three women were injured in a drive-by shooting. The incident took place late on Friday night, with shots being fired from a car on Frederick Street. One of the victims is still receiving treatment in the hospital, while the remaining two have been discharged.
West Midlands Police have confirmed the attack and stated, “We received reports of shots being fired from a car on Frederick Street at around 11 pm. Three women were taken to the hospital. Two women have since been discharged. A third woman remains in the hospital in a stable condition.” The police department is conducting a CCTV sweep and other investigations to apprehend those involved in the shooting. They are urging anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing that such violence will not be tolerated.
In response to the incident, the police have deployed extra officers in the area to provide reassurance to the local community. This is not the first time the city has witnessed such violence – in the past, there have been similar incidents. Last December, two children were caught in the crossfire of a gang drive-by shooting outside a playground in Wolverhampton. Additionally, last summer, shots were fired at a wedding party, prompting an investigation by West Midlands Police.
The authorities are determined to identify and bring those responsible for the recent drive-by shooting to justice. The community is being encouraged to cooperate with the ongoing investigation to ensure the safety and security of all residents in Wolverhampton.
