Texas teacher found having ‘sexual contact’ with student in home under construction

A Texas teacher has been arrested for engaging in ‘sexual contact’ with a student in a home under construction, as reported by local authorities. Jennifer Massey, a 51-year-old art teacher at Davenport High School, was apprehended by Comal County deputies following a call about a suspicious individual at the unfinished residence.

The deputies conducted an initial investigation at the scene and discovered Massey along with a male juvenile involved in ‘sexual contact’, according to a statement from the Comal County Sheriff’s Office. Massey has been charged with an improper relationship between an educator and a student, a second-degree felony, and is currently being held on a $50,000 surety bond, according to public records.

If convicted, Massey could face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison along with a $10,000 fine. The Principal of Davenport High School, Angela Looney, communicated to parents that Massey will not be returning to the school following the incident. She advised parents that counselors are available for students in light of the situation.

In response to inquiries, the Comal Independent School District issued a statement to KENS 5, expressing disapproval of inappropriate relationships between teachers and students and emphasizing their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of students. The district pledged full cooperation with law enforcement during their investigation into the matter.

This development has raised concerns within the community and among parents, with the school district taking steps to address the situation promptly and provide support to those affected. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safeguarding students and upholding ethical standards within educational institutions. The authorities are continuing their inquiries into the case to ensure justice is served and appropriate measures are taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
