Stirling Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) has launched a fresh recruitment drive for volunteers as they prepare for an anticipated surge in demand for their services. With the cost-of-living crisis and rising energy prices adding to winter worries, the charity is reaching out to the community for help. They are seeking new volunteers to undergo training and become advisers, with no specific qualifications required. The CAB team will provide training to equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge to offer advice effectively.
The bureau is aiming to recruit volunteers from diverse backgrounds and of all ages to reflect the community they serve. Training for advisers is scheduled to commence on Friday, January 10, with a three-month program involving in-person Friday morning sessions and online modules that can be completed at one’s own pace. Following training, volunteers will shadow experienced advisers for at least three hours per week, with a minimum commitment of six hours per week to advise the public either on one full day or two half days. The advice service operates Monday to Thursday from 10am to 3pm.
