Bowen Yang has dropped more hints about the ‘awful’ SNL host that made cast members cry. The Saturday Night Live star recently made headlines for revealing that an unnamed host caused ‘multiple cast members’ to cry. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Yang was asked about the worst SNL host behavior he had ever witnessed. He shared that the host made cast members cry before the table read because he disliked their ideas.
Yang provided further details about the incident on David Spade and Dana Carvey’s Fly on the Wall podcast. He explained that it was more about the atmosphere of the place rather than just the behaviour of the celebrity host. The pressure of staying up until 4 am to write a sketch, only to have the host express dislike for it, led to emotional responses from the cast members. Yang emphasised that he was not one of the cast members who cried.
Former SNL stars, Spade and Carvey, sympathised with Yang, recalling their own challenging experiences with hosts. Spade mentioned a past incident involving Steven Seagal, who he described as tough to work with and unwilling to play along during his hosting stint.
