Hoda Kotb recently made a significant purchase, acquiring a $2.89 million home in the affluent suburbs, just weeks before announcing her departure from the Today show. Following her revelation that she will be leaving the talk show early next year, Realtor.com disclosed Kotb’s latest investment outside of New York City – a property in Bronxville, New York.
The new home, valued at $2,895,000, features four bedrooms and is where Kotb currently resides with her two daughters, seven-year-old Haley Joy and four-year-old Hope Catherine, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman. Notable features of the Colonial house include five bathrooms, a formal dining room, and a family room equipped with a vaulted ceiling, skylight, and custom built-ins.
The primary bedroom boasts 764 square feet of space adorned with custom closets and cabinets. Additionally, the main bathroom features a marble-tiled floor with radiant heat, dual sinks, and a towel warmer. The property also includes a basement with a living area and bathroom. Outside the house, there is a spacious bluestone patio and a garden with a delightful array of flowers already in bloom.
Kotb has already settled into her new abode and shared her experience of transitioning to suburban living during a recent episode of Today broadcasted on September 4. She expressed her excitement about the changes, emphasizing the joy of being able to walk her children to school, a privilege that not all working parents have the opportunity to enjoy.
On the day of her announcement, Kotb took to Instagram to post a heartwarming picture of herself and her daughters outside their new home, marking their first day of school in Bronxville. In the post, she captured a video of her daughters hugging their classmates, signifying a new chapter in their lives.
During a tearful moment on the show, Kotb disclosed her decision to depart Today after dedicating 26 years to NBC. She cited the desire to explore new possibilities at the age of 60 and the need to allocate more time to her daughters as key factors influencing her choice.
Kotb confirmed that she will continue co-hosting the Today show alongside Savannah Guthrie until January 1, 2025, marking a significant transition in her illustrious career. The heartfelt announcement resonated with fans and colleagues, highlighting Kotb’s dedication to both her professional endeavours and her role as a mother.
As Kotb embarks on this new journey, her move to the tranquil suburb symbolises a fresh start and a renewed focus on family, encapsulating the essence of embracing change and prioritising personal fulfilment.
