Strictly Come Dancing professional Jowita Przystal has shared a glimpse into her close bond with dance partner Pete Wicks by revealing a secret code they use during training sessions. Wicks, known for his appearances on The Only Way is Essex, is currently competing in this season’s Strictly competition alongside 14 other celebrities aiming to win the coveted glitterball trophy. Przystal, who has been part of the show since 2021, is partnering with Wicks for this series.
During an episode of Wicks’s podcast ‘Staying Relevant’, co-hosted with former Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson, Przystal opened up about the instant connection she felt with Wicks when they first met. Thompson expressed his surprise at Przystal being paired with “Britain’s sexiest man,” to which she humbly replied, “Me too!”
Reflecting on their initial meeting, Przystal recounted how they were unable to dance much during their first encounter as they couldn’t stop laughing together. She described moments in their training sessions where they communicate non-verbally through looks, emphasising that sometimes words are unnecessary between them.
Przystal shared a heartwarming anecdote from their rehearsals where they found themselves constantly laughing instead of dancing. She revealed a special moment they shared while learning part of their routine together with the choreographer, which was captured on video and shared with the group, highlighting the fun they had during the process.
Further adding to their strong connection, Przystal mentioned a funny coincidence where they both turned up for their pairing day wearing cowboy boots and similar outfits. Thompson disclosed that Wicks was ecstatic after meeting Przystal for the first time, noting their similarities, including the type of socks they had on.
On a recent appearance on BBC Two’s spin-off show ‘It Takes Two’, Wicks expressed his delight at being in the competition and specifically mentioned that his favorite part is spending time in the rehearsal room with Przystal. He praised her by calling her his “little ray of sunshine,” showcasing the genuine affection and camaraderie between the dancing duo.
