Dr Leah Totton, the winner of The Apprentice, has recently sold her chain of cosmetics clinics which were backed by Lord Sugar. Dr Leah Clinics has been acquired by private investment group, Advanced Aesthetics Partners (AAP). The value of the sale has not been disclosed, but the business is estimated to be worth over £7 million.
The business, founded 11 years ago by Dr Leah and Lord Sugar, was a joint venture that has now resulted in a multi-million pound payout for the duo after selling a majority stake in the clinics. Following her victory in the BBC reality series in 2013, Dr Leah received a £250,000 investment for her startup and partnered with Lord Sugar.
Operating across three locations in London and Essex, Dr Leah Clinics offers a range of procedures including non-surgical facelifts, injectable fillers, skin treatments, and facials. Additionally, a skincare product line launched under the brand in 2022 has also been included in the acquisition.
Dr Leah expressed her gratitude for the life-changing opportunity that The Apprentice provided her, as she transitioned from a 25-year-old doctor with no business experience to a successful entrepreneur. She will continue to play a role in the clinics and looks forward to expanding the Dr Leah brand under the new ownership in the coming years.
AAP, focusing on investments in UK aesthetics clinics, aims to nurture the growth of Dr Leah Clinics under its ownership. This successful sale marks the second business formed from The Apprentice to be sold, with digital marketing agency Climb Online, founded by 2014 winner Mark Wright, being acquired in 2022 for around £10 million.
Meanwhile, Lord Sugar has also reaped the benefits of his business ventures, receiving a significant payout after selling his stake in Tropic Skincare to Susie Ma, a former contestant on The Apprentice who went on to establish the business. The transaction underscores the lasting impact of the popular reality TV show on entrepreneurship and business growth.
