Police in Bellshill are on the hunt for a gang of individuals wearing balaclavas following a bladed weapon attack in the Tesco car park. The incident took place on Thursday, September 26, where a 26-year-old man was assaulted by the group between 12:45pm and 1:15pm near a red van within the car park on North Road.
The suspects, all donning black balaclavas, fled the scene in a black Range Rover after the attack. The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to Wishaw General Hospital for treatment. Detective Constable Adele Johnston from Wishaw CID described it as a violent assault and highlighted that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full details of the incident.
Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the attack or has relevant information to come forward. The car park would have been busy around the time of the incident, and motorists with dashcams are urged to review their footage for any potentially pertinent information.
