Lorde fans express concern after singer shares selfie with black eye

Lorde’s fans have expressed concern after the singer shared a selfie showing her with a black eye on her Instagram account. The 27-year-old singer from New Zealand deleted all her previous posts on Monday, replacing them with two selfies that reveal bruising around her right eye. In the caption, she wrote, “DYHTS,” accompanied by various emoji symbols, leaving fans puzzled and worried about her well-being.

The sudden change in Lorde’s Instagram feed has sparked speculation among fans, with many expressing hopes that the singer is okay. Comments on social media platforms like Reddit and Twitter range from concern to confusion, with one person speculating that she may have accidentally injured herself, while others are sending positive thoughts and wishing her a speedy recovery.

Just last week, Lorde surprised fans by joining Charli XCX to perform a remix of “Girl, so confusing” live for the first time at Charli’s concert at Madison Square Garden. The lyrics of the song have led to speculation among fans that it may be referencing Lorde, especially as Charli XCX recently admitted to feelings of jealousy towards Lorde’s success with the song, “Royals,” back in 2013.

Despite the speculation, Lorde and Charli XCX have shown mutual respect and admiration for each other. Lorde praised Charli XCX’s work on her latest album, emphasizing the uniqueness and impact of her music. The two artists collaborated on a remix of “Girl, so confusing,” which was released in June, putting an end to any rumours of a feud between them.

While Lorde has been hinting at new musical projects since 2023, it has been three years since her last studio album, Solar Power, was released in 2021. In March, she made a comeback with a cover of Talking Heads’ 1978 hit “Take Me to the River,” leaving fans eagerly anticipating new music from the talented singer-songwriter.
