Three individuals have been taken into custody by Scottish police as authorities conducted a crackdown on drug dealers, sex offenders, domestic abusers, and violent criminals in Dundee. The arrests were made as part of an operation that led to the seizure of drugs and a significant amount of cash following raids in the areas of Craigie and Douglas. Two men, aged 41 and 42, along with a 30-year-old woman, were apprehended and charged after search warrants were executed at various properties during the investigation. The operation involved multiple police units. On Friday, the two men and the woman were arrested and charged, while a 30-year-old man was cautioned and charged in connection with drug-related offences. The police reported the recovery of cocaine worth an estimated £1,000, cannabis valued at £370, heroin worth £30, and a sum of £12,000 in cash.
Police Constable Matty Alexander stated, “We are determined to make Tayside safer. We will use all resources available to eliminate drugs from our local communities. We rely on information from the public to help target our activities. If anyone has concerns regarding the abuse or supply of controlled drugs, please contact the Police on 101 or Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 for anonymity.” The operation, known as Operation Argonite, saw reports being submitted to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service for further action. The intensified week-long crackdown, which occurred from September 23 to September 27, covered Dundee, Angus, and Perth and Kinross. Last week, the police detained 40 individuals and conducted 12 property searches as part of the Tayside crime operation.
