Amazon has made a significant move by pulling a memoir from its platform that focuses on an alleged abusive relationship between the late Kim Porter and hip-hop icon Sean “Diddy” Combs. The memoir titled “Kim’s Lost Words: A journey for justice, from the other side…” gained attention, with Porter and Combs’ children dismissing it as entirely fabricated even though it became a bestseller on Amazon in September.
Following the denouncement by Porter and Combs’ children, Amazon took action to remove the controversial book from its site. An Amazon spokesperson stated, “We were made aware of a dispute regarding this title and have notified the publisher. The book is not currently available for sale in our store.” The independent publisher behind the memoir is Todd Christopher Guzze, also known as Chris Todd, who describes himself as an “investigative producer, author, and journalist.”
Reports reveal that Todd claimed to have received material including a flash drive, documents, and tapes from sources closely associated with Kim and Sean Combs, which he utilized to craft the memoir. Todd, who published the title under the name Jamal T. Millwood, did not provide comments concerning the removal of the book when contacted recently.
The controversial memoir highlights allegations of physical abuse, sexual coercion, and other violent acts purportedly committed by Combs. Priced at $22 for a paperback copy, the book initially had a low-profile release on Amazon before gaining immense popularity following news of Combs’ arrest and the shocking details of the indictment against him. Subsequently, it rose to the top spot on Amazon’s bestseller list in September before being removed by Amazon.
