In a shocking incident captured on CCTV, a resident was viciously attacked by two dogs on a street in Sheffield. The South Yorkshire Police released footage of the attack, which took place on Dagnam Crescent on Sunday, 29th September.
The victim, a 47-year-old man, sustained deep cuts and puncture wounds across his body in the attack involving a Mastiff and Cane Corso. He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and underwent surgery for his injuries. The man remains in hospital recovering from the ordeal.
A 14-year-old who tried to intervene in the attack suffered minor injuries. Following the incident, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a dangerously out-of-control dog and obstructing a police officer. He has been released on police bail. Additionally, a 39-year-old woman was also arrested on the same charges and has been released on police bail as well.
The police have urged dog owners to take responsibility for their pets and ensure they are properly restrained to prevent such incidents from reoccurring. The horrific attack has raised concerns about dog safety and pet owner accountability in the community.
