Dumfries Camera Club has launched an exciting photography exhibition at The Usual Place café on Academy Street in the town. Running from yesterday until Friday, October 11, the exhibition showcases a diverse range of pictures created by club members. These photographs are also available for purchase as part of a fundraising initiative by the club.
In addition to the display, there will be a film screening featuring photography captured by club members over the past eight to nine years. The show will provide a beautiful backdrop for café customers as they enjoy their coffee and conversations. Established 77 years ago, Dumfries Camera Club comprises numerous skilled amateur photographers who are eager to share their expertise with new members.
The club welcomes individuals of all skill levels, offering a supportive environment for photography enthusiasts to learn and grow. Guests are encouraged to visit the club and engage with members to discuss their own photography projects. Furthermore, visiting judges provide valuable feedback on members’ work, assisting them in honing their skills.
On October 2, the club will host Lynda Haney from Wigan 10 Camera Club as the guest speaker. Haney’s photography interests span across various subjects, drawing inspiration mainly from the natural world. She particularly enjoys capturing wildlife but also loves the challenge of photographing diverse subjects in creative ways.
