Renault has offered a sneak peek of the upcoming new Renault 4 which is scheduled to debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 14. This unveiling follows the recent launch of the all-electric Renault 5 as part of Renault’s ‘Renaulution’ strategy.
The new Renault 4 is set to be fully revealed on October 14, with the company releasing teaser images showcasing the retro design elements of the all-electric model. Previously seen in concept form as the off-road Renault 4Ever concept car at the 2022 Paris Motor Show, the production version, set to hit the market next year, has shed its 4×4 cladding for a more refined look.
The teaser pictures highlight various design elements of the new Renault 4, such as the grille, fabric roll-back roof, rear lights, side panel, rear spoiler, and more. These features pay homage to the original Renault 4 from 1961, a pioneering small family car known for its spacious interior and innovative design.
Drawing inspiration from its predecessor, the new Renault 4’s modern interpretation of the original car’s grille, circular headlights, and roll-back fabric roof are key design elements. Additionally, the upcoming model is expected to offer a mix of retro and modern touches, including LED taillights, sculpted ridges along the doors, and a graphic panel reminiscent of the original Renault 4’s front fenders.
Under the hood, the new Renault 4 is likely to feature similar technology to the Renault 5, with anticipated battery options of 40kWh and 52kWh, offering claimed ranges of up to 248 miles. Inside, the Renault 4 is expected to boast a contemporary cabin with twin 10-inch screens, integrated infotainment system with Google, voice control, and various connected services.
Renault is set to introduce an R4 R Pass for potential buyers, offering perks such as a fast-track ordering process and a miniature model of the new car. With the new Renault 4 following the footsteps of the Renault 5 in the electric vehicle lineup, it aims to blend nostalgia with modernity, catering to the evolving preferences of eco-conscious motorists.
