Principal Arrested for Allegedly Being Drunk at Student Dance and Inappropriately Touching Girls on Dance Floor
An Oklahoma high school principal, Mickey Replogle, has been arrested following allegations of getting drunk and inappropriately touching teenage girls at a school dance. The incident occurred at Bixby High School in Bixby, leading to Replogle’s termination from his position. He appeared in court on Tuesday and entered a not-guilty plea to public intoxication charges.
Reports indicate that the former school official’s behaviour took place during the school’s fall dance at the Renaissance Hotel in Tulsa. Bixby Superintendent Rob Miller stated that several students and teachers reported the inappropriate behaviour by Replogle. Miller expressed his distress over any child feeling unsafe or uncomfortable around a BPS employee, especially someone in a leadership role. He apologised to those impacted by the incident and assured the community of the district’s commitment to rebuilding trust.
In response to the situation, Assistant Superintendent Kendall Still has been assigned to the school to offer additional support while a leadership transition plan is put in place. The district is actively supporting the ongoing investigation by the Tulsa Police Department. The Independent reached out to Bixby Schools for comment, but a representative for Replogle was not immediately available for response.
Following the incident, a former student named Hannah shared her surprise and shock at the allegations, mentioning that Replogle’s behaviour was unexpected based on her limited interactions with him during her time at the school. She highlighted that this incident is not the first scandal to involve the district. Replogle is scheduled to appear in court again in November to address the charges against him.
