Reese Witherspoon is teaming with bestseller Harlan Coben on her first suspense novel

Reese Witherspoon is set to venture into new literary territory as she collaborates with best-selling author Harlan Coben on her first suspense novel. The announcement, made by Grand Central Publishing, signals a new chapter for Witherspoon, who is not only an Oscar-winning actor and producer but also the founder of her own book club.

The novel, which is currently untitled, is scheduled for release next fall and is based on an idea conceived by Witherspoon herself. Speaking about the collaboration, Witherspoon expressed her admiration for Coben’s work and described the experience of working with him as a dream come true. Coben, known for his gripping thrillers and Netflix productions, commended Witherspoon’s storytelling instincts and expressed his excitement about bringing their joint project to life.

Witherspoon’s foray into suspense fiction follows her recent selection of Lauren Ling Brown’s “Society of Lies” as her October book club pick. This collaboration with Harlan Coben is not the only literary project on Witherspoon’s plate, as her media company, Hello Sunshine, is also set to produce a film adaptation of a novel by James Patterson and Dolly Parton.

The partnership between Witherspoon and Coben reflects a trend of screen performers teaming up with renowned fiction writers, with Viola Davis also working on a novel with James Patterson. This cross-pollination of talent from the worlds of film and literature promises to deliver fresh and exciting storytelling for audiences to delve into.
