Wendy Williams has broken her silence on the arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs, expressing that it is long overdue. The 60-year-old TV presenter and former radio host has been a vocal critic of Combs, who was apprehended on September 16 on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. Despite Combs denying all allegations and remaining in jail without bond, Williams shared her thoughts on the situation, stating, “You know how I feel about that? It is about time.”
Reacting to the news of Combs’s arrest, Williams recounted the disturbing 2016 security footage that surfaced in May, showing Combs physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Williams expressed her horror, mentioning how she had predicted such events. She highlighted the importance of addressing how many more individuals may have been affected by such behaviour, calling the situation “horrible.”
Amidst Combs facing additional lawsuits accusing him of various crimes such as rape, sexual abuse, and more, Williams’s history with Combs dates back to the Nineties when she worked as a hip-hop radio host. During that time, she openly discussed artists’ personal lives, including speculation about Combs’s sexuality. Williams faced repercussions for her outspoken nature, with allegations surfacing that Combs played a role in her dismissal from the radio station.
Earlier this year, Williams disclosed her diagnosis with dementia (FTD) and aphasia, conditions affecting her brain function and communication abilities. Despite these health challenges, she shared that she is managing well. Known for hosting “The Wendy Williams Show” from 2008 to 2021, Williams stepped down from her role due to health issues before the show was canceled in 2022.
Williams’s candid remarks shed light on her perspective regarding Combs’s arrest and their past interactions, providing insight into her ongoing journey amidst health challenges.
