Andrew Garfield has given a direct response to a fan theory suggesting that the movie “La La Land” is actually about his relationship with Emma Stone. However, Garfield has kept mum about reprising the role of Spider-Man in the future.
“La La Land,” which was released in 2016, features Ryan Gosling and focuses on a doomed relationship between a musician and an actor. Due to the timing of the film and Stone’s involvement, fans speculated that the storyline may have been inspired by Garfield and Stone’s real-life romance. When questioned about this theory in an interview with Esquire, the 41-year-old actor responded bluntly, stating, “I guess people need something to believe.”
Garfield further elaborated, “I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever.” Director Damien Chazelle had previously discredited rumours linking the film to any real-life events, emphasizing the poetic nature of a city built on unrealistic dreams.
