The search for missing mum Victoria Taylor, who disappeared five days ago, continues, with police ramping up efforts to locate her. Victoria, 34, was last seen at her home in Malton, North Yorkshire, around 9 am on Monday morning before being captured on CCTV buying a soft drink at a local BP garage two hours later. She has not been in contact with her loved ones since. Described as white and approximately 5ft 6in tall, she was wearing blue jeans, a black Adidas original puffer jacket with white stripes, and a grey Jack Wills hooded jumper.
Victoria was initially seen with her fiancé Matthew and their two-year-old daughter at their Malton home before leaving to visit Matthew’s parents. However, after leaving his parents’ home, Victoria did not return. Witnesses later spotted her near a Lidl store and by the River Derwent. Police have been carrying out searches in the area, including along the River Derwent with kayaks from the Marine and Underwater Search Units.
Among the unanswered questions is why Victoria’s belongings were found discarded near the riverbanks. Personal items such as soft drink bottles she purchased were discovered, along with a green baseball cap and a salmon pink Vans rucksack. Additionally, there have been reports of recent activity on Victoria’s Instagram account despite her disappearance, raising speculation about who might be using her social media.
Authorities have also raised concerns about whether Victoria could have travelled outside the Malton area. However, there is currently no evidence to suggest she left the local vicinity. Despite extensive checks, including reviewing train and bus station footage, there have been no signs of Victoria boarding public transport or using her cash card since the CCTV sighting at the BP garage. Police are urging the local community to remain vigilant and report any information promptly.
The police investigation is ongoing, focusing on the Malton/Norton area, with Inspector Leanne Anderson highlighting the need for public cooperation in locating Victoria. As efforts to find her intensify, family, friends, and the community continue to hope for her safe return, with many actively involved in the search and raising awareness through social media and dedicated groups.
As the search for Victoria Taylor enters its sixth day, the community remains united in the effort to find her. The unanswered questions surrounding her disappearance only serve to reinforce the urgency and importance of locating her. With ongoing police efforts and the support of the community, there is hope that Victoria will be found safe and reunited with her loved ones soon.
