Stephen Watters, of Dundonald Avenue, clashed with Laura Wilson and Nathan Stewart in Johnstone’s Ryefield Avenue on August 11. Watters, devoid of prior convictions, was spared a custodial sentence but was ordered by Sheriff Clare Arias to wear a tag for 20 weeks as part of a restriction of liberty order. The sheriff noted the seriousness of the incident and emphasized the need for public protection in the case.
