Public invited to attend NHS Lanarkshire’s Ministerial Annual Review next month

The NHS Lanarkshire Ministerial Annual Review is set to take place on November 4, with Maree Todd MSP, Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing, and Sport, leading the review of the health board’s performance during 2023/24. The public is encouraged to attend this open meeting to learn about the various developments aimed at enhancing health services in the local area.

The review will be held at the Ken Corsar Medical Education Training Centre in Kirklands Hospital, Bothwell. Attendees are requested to arrive by 12pm, with refreshments available from 12.15pm to 12.35pm, followed by the review from 12.35pm to 1.35pm. Martin Hill, the Chair of NHS Lanarkshire, expressed the board’s enthusiasm for public engagement in the annual review and highlighted the opportunity to showcase key accomplishments from the previous year.

Participants can join the public session either in person or online via Microsoft Teams. Due to limited capacity, interested individuals are advised to secure their spot in advance by emailing communications@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk or completing the registration form on the NHS Lanarkshire website. The event will also provide a platform for the public to pose questions on pertinent issues, though specific patient queries may not be addressed during the session.

The presentation by NHS Lanarkshire will encompass significant achievements in 2023/24, as well as updates on ongoing projects such as FNC+Plus, Monklands Replacement Project, and Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service. Moreover, the review will touch upon the comprehensive efforts undertaken as part of Operation Flow in late 2023 and early 2024 to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of health and care services across Lanarkshire.

For those requiring assistance to attend the annual review, including travel arrangements, provisions can be made upon confirmation of attendance. This event offers a valuable opportunity for the public to gain insights into the health board’s accomplishments and key initiatives, fostering transparency and dialogue between healthcare providers and the local community.
