A resident in Alloa was left in shock after hearing an explosion that made her believe “World War III had started.” Rosie Adamson, residing on Kellie Place, was startled by the noise that tragically resulted in one death and three injuries on Sunday, October 6.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene following reports of the explosion around 6 pm on that day. Tragically, a man inside the property where the blast occurred lost his life and was confirmed dead at the scene, though his identity has not yet been officially disclosed. Three other individuals from the same block of flats sustained minor injuries and were promptly taken to Forth Valley Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Rosie Adamson described the terrifying experience, stating, “I just heard this big boom – my doors shook. I thought World War III had started. There was this big boom, and then I ran to the window and saw the flames and the smoke.”

The aftermath of the explosion resulted in a part of the property’s roof being ripped off, leaving a significant hole in the building’s first floor. Rosie expressed her concern for the well-being of potential occupants, hoping no one was inside during the incident.

Sergeant Neill Drummond acknowledged the ongoing efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the explosion, confirming the unfortunate loss of one life and expressing gratitude to the local community for their cooperation.
