‘This is what happens when I drink!’: Harris calls out ‘loser’ Trump as she cracks a beer with Stephen Colbert

Kamala Harris made a bold statement as she cracked open a beer and criticised former US President Donald Trump during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The Democratic presidential nominee didn’t hold back, calling Trump a “loser” and playfully remarking, “This is what happens when I drink!”

Walking onto the stage to enthusiastic applause from the CBS show’s audience, Harris wasted no time in taking a swipe at Trump, pointing out that the audience knew how to pronounce her name correctly, unlike some. Colbert then offered her a can of Miller High Life, which she happily accepted, joking that it was “the champagne of beers.”

During the interview, Colbert posed a question about Trump losing the 2020 election, to which Harris responded by highlighting the millions of jobs and industries lost during Trump’s presidency, quipping that losing all of that only made him a “loser.” She continued to poke fun, saying, “This is what happens when I drink!”

Harris also addressed the controversy surrounding Trump allegedly sending Covid-19 test kits to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the pandemic. She criticised Trump’s actions, highlighting the scarcity of tests available to the American people at the time.

The Democratic nominee went on to condemn Trump’s admiration for authoritarian leaders like Viktor Orban, Putin, and Xi Jinping, emphasising the importance of the US standing with its allies and defending democratic principles.

Later in the interview, Harris spoke about the ongoing efforts to provide aid and relief to communities affected by hurricanes Helene and Milton. She expressed frustration at the misinformation being circulated and urged people to focus on supporting those in need rather than playing political games.

Highlighting a poignant encounter with a woman who lost her husband in the storms, Harris underscored the importance of leadership in times of crisis. She criticised Trump for his lack of empathy and questioned his ability to uplift and support those in distress.

Harris also touched on her debate performance against Trump and added a touch of humour to the conversation, showing her wit and charm throughout the interview. The vice president’s appearance on the show garnered attention for her candid remarks and charismatic presence.
