King to join Prime Minister at reception for UK’s international investment summit
Buckingham Palace has confirmed that His Majesty will be attending a reception on Monday evening at St. Paul’s Cathedral following the UK’s international investment summit. The King will be accompanied by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at the event, where they will meet with business leaders from various sectors, including technology, energy, and the performing arts.
The reception is set to take place after approximately 300 industry leaders convene in London for the government’s flagship investment summit. Sir Keir will use this platform to advocate for the UK as being “open for business,” as he strives to boost economic growth within the country.
Notable speakers at the summit include Ruth Porat, the President, and Chief Investment Officer at Alphabet and Google, Alex Kendall, the Chief Executive of AI firm Wayve, and Bruce Flatt, the head of Brookfield Asset Management. This isn’t the first time the King has participated in such an event, as he previously hosted former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at a similar reception at Buckingham Palace last year following the 2023 UK Global Investment Summit.
