The actor mentioned that he enjoyed his time in New Zealand over the 10-year period while working on the films but stated, “I’ve had enough of Middle-earth. I don’t imagine anyone would ask me to do it again.”
Weaving elaborated on his decision, highlighting the aging process as a key factor in his choice to step away from the franchise. Referring to Elrond’s immortality in the saga, he explained, “Elrond is meant to be immortal, and I’m ageing… I loved being a part of that franchise, but I have absolutely no plans or desires to be a part of it anymore.”
The actor further reflected on his return for The Hobbit, suggesting that portraying the character was becoming challenging due to his age.
