Brush up your Shakespeare this weekend at the inaugural outdoor production by Bear Pursuit Theatre at the Crawick Multiverse near Sanquhar in Dumfriesshire. The newly-formed collective of artists from Dumfries and Galloway will perform “Much Ado At The Multiverse” for the first time, inviting the public to enjoy a unique theatre experience in the cosmic artland.
Bear Pursuit Theatre, led by producer Stephen Will, is excited to present this rendition of Shakespeare’s works at the Crawick Multiverse. The performances are scheduled for 6.30pm on Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13. The team has been inspired by the natural and artistic beauty of the Crawick Multiverse, a vast outdoor space created by land artist Charles Jencks and funded by The Duke of Buccleuch on the site of a former coal mine.
The audience, aged 12 and above, will be taken on a journey through Shakespearean scenes in a walking show set against the stunning backdrop of Crawick Multiverse. The combination of iconic characters and the immersive outdoor setting aims to provide a fresh and engaging experience for both seasoned Shakespeare enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
The production has received support from the education department of Theatre Royal Dumfries, enhancing connections within the local arts and educational communities.
