A tragic incident unfolded in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, as a driver lost their life following a collision involving a bus and three cars. The emergency services swiftly responded to the scene on Stirling Street in Airdrie town centre, which occurred around 3.25pm on Friday, October 11.
The 58-year-old male driver involved in the crash was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries shortly after admission. Authorities have informed the driver’s family, and a report will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal. Fortunately, no other individuals suffered injuries during the collision, and the road has since been reopened.
Sergeant Nick Twigg from Road Policing issued a plea for any witnesses who have not yet come forward to reach out to the authorities. He also requested that anyone with relevant private CCTV or dashcam footage contact the police by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 2154 dated Friday, October 11, 2024.
