Scots Jet2 passenger yells ‘this is not fair’ as police haul her off flight

A Scottish passenger travelling on a Jet2 flight caused quite a scene when she was taken off the plane by police, shouting, “This is not fair.” The incident occurred on flight LS781 from Edinburgh to Turkey, which had to be diverted to Cologne on the evening of October 8. As the plane was being diverted, German police officers boarded the aircraft to remove two disruptive passengers. One of the passengers, captured in footage shared by a fellow passenger, can be heard protesting, “Where are you taking me? I don’t know what to do, this is not fair. I’ve not done anything wrong.” The woman then stumbled into another passenger, apologising before turning to the rest of the shocked passengers and yelling, “F*** you all, man.”

According to a witness on board, the disruptive pair were intoxicated and had been warned before takeoff. Their behaviour escalated to one spitting in the other’s face and a minor altercation. The cabin crew had warned them that causing a diversion would incur a cost of £20,000. The Jet2.com spokesperson confirmed that the two passengers were offloaded due to disruptive behaviour, leading to the return flight from Dalaman to Edinburgh being affected as well. The airline arranged hotel accommodation and refreshments for the impacted passengers, with the Dalaman to Edinburgh flight having to night stop in Dalaman.

The spokesperson stated, “The flight departed for Dalaman after two passengers were offloaded by police, however the subsequent Dalaman to Edinburgh flight had to night stop in Dalaman. We have arranged for hotel accommodation and refreshments for everyone and will have them on their way home as soon as possible.” The incident serves as a reminder of the consequences of disruptive behaviour on flights, not just for the passengers involved but for fellow travellers and the airline as well.
