United Airlines has announced plans to add eight exciting new international destinations to its itinerary for next summer. This major expansion will see the airline operating more than 760 weekly flights and introducing new routes to diverse locations around the globe.
Starting in May, passengers flying out of Newark, New Jersey will have the opportunity to explore cities such as Bilbao in Spain, Faro in Portugal, and Palermo in Italy. In June, United Airlines will launch flights from Newark to Madeira Island in Portugal and Nuuk in Greenland. Other new routes include Tokyo to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, and Washington, D.C. to Dakar, which are set to commence in May, as well as Tokyo to Kaohsiung in Taiwan starting in July.
Additionally, United Airlines will be introducing new routes to existing destinations, including Washington D.C. to Nice in France, Washington D.C. to Venice in Italy, and Tokyo to Narita-Koror in Palau. The airline will also be resuming services to several destinations earlier in the season, such as Newark to Athens in Greece commencing in March, and Newark to Dubrovnik in Croatia in May.
All new flights are subject to government approval and will be available for booking through the airline’s website and mobile app. In a recent development, United Airlines revealed a partnership with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to offer satellite-based Starlink WiFi service on flights in the coming years. This complimentary service will allow passengers to connect multiple devices, with testing set to begin early next year and initial implementation planned for later in 2025.
