**Sir Paul McCartney Helps Couple Get Engaged on Stage During Soundcheck**

Sir Paul McCartney, the legendary 82-year-old musician, played cupid during a recent soundcheck before his sold-out show in Chile. McCartney noticed a couple, Yamil Alamo and Leonora Pereira, dressed as 1970s versions of himself and his late wife Linda McCartney, holding a sign that read: “Paul: Give us a handshake and we’ll get married.” During the soundcheck in Santiago, Sir Paul invited the couple on stage, where Mr Alamo proposed to his girlfriend of six years.

Overwhelmed by the moment, Mr Alamo shared, “This was a very special moment for us because for many years we have tried to meet him and today is the day! I don’t have words to describe the experience.” The couple from La Serena, who are devoted fans of Sir Paul and have attended several of his concerts, plan to have their wedding to the tune of “Maybe I’m Amazed” from McCartney’s 1970 debut solo album.

Sir Paul McCartney is currently on tour in South America with his “Got Back” tour, and after his performance in Santiago, he will head to Brazil for his next show. The tour started in Uruguay at the beginning of October and featured the live performance of the last unfinished Beatles song, “Now and Then.” Fans in the UK can look forward to Sir Paul’s return in December for his first UK shows since his headline act at Glastonbury in 2022.
