Strictly Come Dancing eliminates third contestant of 2024 series

Strictly Come Dancing has eliminated its third celebrity contestant in the 2024 series, as reported by The Independent. The popular BBC One reality dancing competition, which has faced controversy this year over alleged mistreatment of contestants, aired the elimination on Saturday. Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri excelled in Week Four, topping the leaderboard with pro partner Aljaž Škorjanec for their Charleston performance that garnered 39 points from the judges. Jamie Borthwick from EastEnders and opera singer Wynne Evans also impressed, scoring 34 points each.

Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell received praise for their salsa routine, earning them 30 points. However, it was TV presenter Nick Knowles and his partner Luba Mushtuk who found themselves in the Sunday dance-off against singer Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu. After performing a Charleston to “Rain on the Roof” from Paddington 2, Knowles was ultimately voted off the show by a unanimous decision.

Reflecting on his Strictly journey, Knowles expressed his surprise at how much he enjoyed the experience and highlighted the care and dedication involved in the competition. This marked Knowles’ exit following the eliminations of Tom Dean and Toyah Willcox earlier in the series.

Mushtuk praised Knowles for his determination and effort, crediting him for exceeding expectations. Knowles, in turn, commended Mushtuk for her support throughout their time together on the show. He also expressed gratitude towards the show’s staff, physios, fellow contestants, and the incredible dancers still competing.

Strictly Come Dancing airs every Saturday on BBC One, with viewers eagerly anticipating the remaining episodes of the 2024 series.
