Former reality TV star and ex-White House aide, Omarosa Manigault Newman, who gained fame on The Apprentice and later worked for the Trump administration, has publicly endorsed Senator Kamala Harris for president. Omarosa, who appeared on the first season of The Apprentice in 2004 and held a role in Trump’s administration, has decided to back Harris in the upcoming presidential election.
During an interview with Variety, Omarosa expressed her full support for Harris, stating, “I have no reservation in — I guess I’m saying this for the first time — completely, 100 percent endorsing Kamala Harris for President.” She also highlighted her concerns about Trump losing to a woman of color like Harris, suggesting it would be particularly damaging to his ego.
Omarosa’s 2018 memoir, “Unhinged,” revealed her experiences while working in the Trump White House and portrayed Trump as racist and mentally unfit for the presidency. In her recent interview, she shared her worries that a potential second term for Trump would result in a more extreme administration, with less restraint than his first term.
She raised alarms about Trump’s selection of Mike Pence as his running mate in 2016, with the belief that Pence would act as a stabilizing influence. However, she noted that Trump had taken control of the party and eliminated those who could moderate his actions. She expressed fears that a re-elected Trump would empower the most extreme individuals within his inner circle.
In a legal battle between Omarosa and Trump’s campaign in 2022, the campaign was ordered to pay Omarosa nearly $1.3 million in legal fees. The dispute arose from Trump’s campaign suing Omarosa over her book, “Unhinged,” claiming it violated a non-disclosure agreement. Despite Trump losing the case in September 2021, the settlement amount was contested by both parties.
Omarosa’s endorsement of Kamala Harris adds another layer of complexity to the upcoming election, as high-profile figures continue to take sides and voice their opinions on the presidential race.
