Demi Moore shares new update about ex Bruce Willis’ health amid dementia battle

Demi Moore provides a new update regarding the health of ex-husband Bruce Willis amid his battle with dementia. Willis’s family initially disclosed in March 2023 that he had received a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

In February 2023, the news of the Die Hard star’s FTD diagnosis was made public by his family, including his wife Emma Heming Willis. This announcement came a year after it was revealed that Willis was “stepping away” from acting duties due to an aphasia diagnosis.

During a conversation at the Hamptons International Film Festival on October 13, Demi Moore, who was married to Willis for 13 years, spoke openly about his condition. She emphasised the importance of accepting the reality of the disease, stating, “But for where he’s at, he is stable.” Moore highlighted the significance of meeting individuals with dementia where they are presently, rather than holding onto the past.

The actress shared that she recently visited Willis with their daughter Rumer, 36, and her one-year-old daughter, Louetta. The former couple has two other adult children together, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30. Moore previously gave a similar update on Willis’s health during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

Willis was diagnosed with aphasia in March 2022, a condition that affects language abilities due to brain damage. Later, his family clarified the diagnosis to FTD, describing it as the most common form of dementia with no current treatment available.

Despite the challenges, Willis’s family continues to provide updates on his condition. Tallulah expressed the mix of emotions involved in caring for someone with dementia, acknowledging both painful days and the importance of love. She highlighted how the experience has taught her to cherish moments with loved ones and remain present in the moment.

The family of Bruce Willis hopes to raise awareness about FTD and the need for further research to support those affected by the disease. They emphasise the importance of using his platform to advocate for greater understanding and support for individuals with dementia.

As the actor navigates his journey with dementia, his family remains a source of love and support, appreciating the valuable time spent together amidst the challenges. Willis’s loved ones continue to provide updates on his condition, highlighting the importance of awareness and care for those battling similar health issues.
