Airbnb has introduced a Co-Host Network to aid in managing property listings and unveiled new personalisation features, marking a significant update for the property and travel app. The company believes these new additions will transform the landscape of travel applications.
According to Brian Chesky, Airbnb’s co-founder and chief executive, traditional travel apps have been generic in their approach, but Airbnb is aiming to change that narrative. The Co-Host Network consists of over 10,000 experienced co-hosts in 10 countries, each with a required minimum rating of 4.86. An advanced algorithm will suggest the most suitable co-hosts to manage a user’s property.
Dave Stephenson, Airbnb’s chief business officer, emphasized the importance of supporting hosts along with guests. He highlighted that hosts offer distinctive properties and experiences that set Airbnb apart from other platforms. Stephenson mentioned that by providing support and unique features for hosts, Airbnb aims to retain hosts on their platform and enhance the hosting experience.
As part of the platform update, Airbnb is rolling out more than 50 enhancements to personalize the user experience. These include customized destination suggestions based on search and booking history, redesigned search filters, and the integration of localised payment methods to facilitate transactions in different regions. Stephenson explained the company’s objective of combining personalisation with the delivery of unexpected and remarkable experiences.
The platform update also focuses on tailoring the app to different types of travellers. For instance, if a user is travelling with children, the app will highlight listings that offer amenities suitable for families. This approach aims to inspire users with unique offerings while meeting their specific travel needs effectively.
Overall, Airbnb’s latest upgrade aims to provide a more tailored and engaging experience for both hosts and guests. The company’s commitment to personalisation and support for hosts underscores its dedication to enhancing the travel experience and setting itself apart in the competitive travel app market.
