Three women arrested on suspicion of murder after man stabbed to death in Liverpool

Three women have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a tragic incident in Liverpool left a man dead. The police were called to a property on Muirhead Avenue in West Derby, where a 47-year-old man was found with serious injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital with a puncture wound.

The authorities have taken three women into custody in connection with the incident. The suspects include a 24-year-old from Anfield, a 49-year-old from West Derby, and a 38-year-old from Litherland. Detectives are currently questioning them as part of the ongoing investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath has urged the public not to speculate on the case while investigations are still underway. He emphasised the importance of anyone with information coming forward to assist with the inquiries. McGrath also appealed to the community, particularly those with CCTV footage, to review any recordings that may help shed light on the incident.

Mr. McGrath highlighted the significance of CCTV footage from the busy Muirhead Avenue, encouraging anyone with relevant information, including dashcam footage from drivers passing by the area, to reach out to the authorities. He expressed condolences to the man’s family and reassured the community that additional officers are present in the area to conduct inquiries and engage with residents.
