Tom Holland, the renowned actor known for playing Spider-Man, has recently disclosed that he and Zendaya have reviewed the script for the proposed Spider-Man 4 but have concluded that it “needs work.” Holland, a 28-year-old British talent, has portrayed the iconic superhero in several films, including Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). He has also appeared as Spider-Man in other Marvel movies like Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
During an appearance on the Rich Roll podcast, Holland discussed the complexities of working within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, highlighting the challenge of ensuring their film aligns with the overarching timeline and vision of the franchise. Despite these obstacles, Holland expressed optimism, stating, “We have a creative and we have a pitch and a draft, which is excellent. It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job.”
The actor revealed that he and Zendaya, who portrays Spider-Man’s love interest MJ, read the script together. Holland shared, “I read it three weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room, like, this is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect.”
Holland and Zendaya first met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016 and officially started dating in 2021. The most recent Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, concluded with a memorable event where Doctor Strange caused everyone to forget Peter Parker’s true identity, including MJ and Ned.
